

On April 22nd, Zhang Tao, Deputy Chair of HUST University Council, presented the letter of appointment for advisory professor to Dr. Jianhua Bian--the member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.
Zhang Tao extended a warm welcome to Dr. Bian's visit to the university. He hoped that Dr. Bian would provide more guiding suggestions on the disciplinary development and talent cultivation in the fields related to electrical engineering, and looked forward to more in-depth and extensive cooperation between both parties in scientific research and talent cultivation, as well as more achievements in innovative talent training and high-level scientific research cooperation.
Dr. Jianhua Bian spoke highly of the university's cultural atmosphere and achievements in disciplinary construction. She shared her impressions of her previous visit to the Institute of New Energy, Wuhan and put forward valuable opinions on the future development of energy and electric power. She was willing to share experience in talent cultivation, introduce international cutting-edge perspectives, and looked forward to jointly creating more fruitful results with the university in the field of electrical engineering.
Prof. Zhang Ming introduced Dr. Bian's outstanding academic achievements, rich industry practice experience, as well as her cooperation intentions in talent cultivation, scientific research, international exchanges, and industry-university-research cooperation. He hoped that both parties would continue to carry out more in-depth and extensive cooperation and expected to make greater progress and development under the guidance and help of Academician Bian.
Dr. Xiaofeng Zhang, Vice Chairman of the IEEE Smart Village Committee (ISV), Fang Jiakun, Vice Dean of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Zang Chunyan, a teacher from the High-Voltage Department, and relevant staffs from the School of Electrical Engineering and the International Exchange Office attended the appointment ceremony.
