2026 HUST Application Guide for Chinese Language Program

➭ Program Introduction

-Program Categories

HUST offers a variety of Chinese language programs tailored to different needs and duration:

Long-term Chinese Language Program (One Semester/One Academic Year)
This program provides structured Chinese language courses across six proficiency levels (A to F), catering to students from elementary (A, B) and intermediate (C, D) to advanced (E, F) levels. It is designed to comprehensively enhance students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, significantly improving their overall communicative competence in Chinese.

3+3 Program (Chinese Language + Internship)
This program combines 3 months of intensive Chinese language study with a 3-month internship at a Chinese company. It is ideal for students seeking to acquire essential Chinese communication skills, gain insights into Chinese culture rapidly, and obtain valuable practical work experience in China.

Short-term Chinese Language & Culture Program (1-4 Weeks)
This immersive program offers a condensed introduction to Chinese language and culture through a blend of lectures, seminars, and cultural activities. It provides a direct and vivid multi-faceted experience of China, allowing participants to form an objective and enriching impression of its profound culture and dynamic modern society.

-Core Curriculum

Long-term Chinese Language Program: Comprehensive Chinese, Chinese Listening, Oral Chinese, Chinese Reading, Chinese Writing, etc.

3+3 Program (Chinese Language + Internship): Elementary Comprehensive Chinese, Business Chinese, Chinese Panorama, Chinese Speaking & Listening, etc.

Short-term Chinese Language & Culture Program: Chinese language classes, thematic lectures, cultural visits, etc.

Note:

Cultural activities such as Tai Chi, calligraphy, Chinese painting, paper-cutting, and Chinese culinary classes will be arranged accordingly for all programs.

➭ Eligibility and Requirements

1. Be non-Chinese citizens and hold a valid foreign passport;
2. Be aged between 16 and 35 years old by September 1, 2026.
3. Have a high school diploma or equivalent (Prospective graduates may provide a pre-graduation certificate during application but must submit the official diploma upon registration);
4. Have no criminal record and be in good physical and mental health and maintain good academic and behavioral standing;
5. Be friendly toward China, and comply with Chinese laws and regulations as well as the rules of HUST.

➭ Application and Admission Procedures

Application Deadlines:

● December 15th, 2025 (For Spring 2026 Intake)

● June 15th, 2026 (For Autumn 2026 Intake)

Notes:

● Uploaded documents must be clear, complete, authentic, and valid. Incomplete or fraudulent applications will be rejected.

● Hard copies or email submissions of application documents will not be accepted. Only applications submitted through the online system will be reviewed by the HUST International Admission Committee.

● Please regularly check your application status and any notifications regarding your admission package via the International Students Application System or your registered email.

● The university may request additional documents or conduct online interviews with applicants as necessary.

➭Application Fee

Applicants shall pay the application fee (non-refundable) of 600 CNY/100 USD upon completing the online application successfully by:

√ Alipay

√ WeChat Pay

√ International bank card (VISA/Master)

Application without payment will be regarded as uncompleted.

➭Documents for Application
1. A scanned copy of the passport photo page.
2. Official certificate of the highest education or an official enrollment document from the current institution.
3. Transcripts.
4. Physical Examination Form: A completed health form. (Applicants already in China may upload a personal health certificate or a copy of their valid residence permit instead.)
5. Certificate of Non-criminal Record: An official document issued by a local police station or relevant law enforcement agency.
6. Financial Certification/Bank Statement: Proof of funds equivalent to at least 3,000 USD (Not required for International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship applicants).
7. Guardian Documents (for applicants under 18): Certified documents signed by the appointed legal guardian(s) in China.

Note: All application documents must be in Chinese or English. Documents in other languages must be accompanied by notarized Chinese or English translations.

1. Long-term Chinese Language Program: 7,500 CNY/Semester; 15,000 CNY/Year

2."3+3" Program (Chinese Language + Internship): 5,000 CNY

3. Short-term Chinese Language & Culture Program:

-项目类别：

长期汉语进修生项目（一学期/一学年）：按汉语水平分设入门至高级6个层级（初级A-B/中级C-D/高级E-F），通过《综合汉语》、《汉语听力》、《汉语口语》、《汉语阅读》、《汉语写作》等核心课程，从听、说、读、写等方面系统提升学习者的汉语综合应用能力；

“3+3”（汉语+企业实习）项目：3个月的在校汉语学习（含《基础综合汉语》、《商务汉语》等课程），结合3个月的实地企业实习，强化学习者的实践能力与文化认知双提升；

短期文化研修项目（1-4周）：通过语言课程、专题讲座及文化体验活动，立体化呈现当代中国风貌。
