On December 13, 2025 (local time), the Confucius Institute co-founded by Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and"Grigore T. Popa" University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Iașiheld the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Culture Day, attracting over 100 participants. The core sessions—TCM lectures and demonstrations—were held in the amphitheater on the second floor, hosted by Ms. Raluca Gogoș, Foreign Director of the Confucius Institute. Dr. Xu Xiaohu, Associate Chief Physician from Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College of HUST, delivered a lecture titled "TCM Health Preservation and Daily Healthcare: The Way of Balance and Harmony". He systematically elaborated on the principles of the zang-fu organs in TCM and the dialectical relationship between essence, qi and spirit, and also guided the audience to practice the Baduanjin on site, enabling them to directly experience the essence of TCM health preservation.

Subsequently, physicians from the Romanian TCM Association presented a Tai Chi performance. Accompanied by traditional Chinese music, their slow, precise movements that combined hardness with softness conveyed the philosophy of physical and mental harmony. Mr. Wu Guanzhong, a Chinese language volunteer, demonstrated the Yijinjing (Muscle/Tendon Changing Classic), with smooth, controlled movements that emphasized both internal cultivation and external training, interpreting the health regimen of strengthening muscles and bones and promoting unobstructed flow of qi and blood.

In the artistic performance segment, Ms. Liu Zhitong played The Happiness Canal on the liuqin (a plucked string instrument), whose clear and crisp tones painted a vivid pastoral scene. Ms. Bo Shengyi performed the dance Radiance, showcasing oriental aesthetics through her graceful postures and inner strength. Children from the Chinese language classes, dressed in adorable costumes, sang Let's Row Our Boats in a chorus, accompanied by Mr. Chen Gong, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, on the guitar. Their innocent voices conveyed the friendship between Chinese and Romanian teenagers.

Through diverse forms including TCM lectures, qigong demonstrations and artistic performances, this event enabled local residents to deeply experience the charm of traditional Chinese health preservation and further enhance their recognition of TCM wisdom and the Healthy China initiative. Moving forward, the Confucius Institute at Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy will continue to deepen TCM teaching and promotion, steadily build a bridge for health exchanges between China and Romania, and compose a new chapter in carrying forward the spirit of traditional Chinese medicine.
