From July 1-5, 2025, the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) successfully hosted the "International Summer School on Frontiers of Interdisciplinary New Materials." Focusing on cutting-edge fields including optoelectronic materials, energy materials, and metallic materials, the program attracted 24 outstanding students from Pakistan, Thailand, Indonesia, and China, launching a transformative journey of cross-cultural and interdisciplinary scientific exploration.

The summer school brought together distinguished scholars from around the world, including Academician Arshad Saleem Bhatti from the Pakistan Academy of Sciences and Virtual University of Pakistan and scholars from National University of Singapore, Wuhan University of Technology and Huazhong University of Science and Technology and. During panel discussions, students actively participated in group discussions on cutting-edge technology applications and interdisciplinary research pathways, proposing innovative perspectives based on their own research backgrounds. The sessions featured frequent intellectual exchanges and a vibrant academic atmosphere.

Participants also visited several national-level research platforms including the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics and the State Key Laboratory of Materials Processing and Die & Mould Technology, as well as specialized laboratories focusing on amorphous materials, additive manufacturing (3D printing), and novel materials and devices. These visits provided hands-on experience with advanced research equipment and in-depth understanding of cutting-edge technology applications, achieving a comprehensive integration of theory and practice. On the final day, all faculty and students visited the Hubei Provincial Museum to experience the profound charm of Chinese civilization.
